Luna & Stella means “moon and star” in Italian. Like the relationship between moon and star, our modern birthstone jewelry conveys the connections between ourselves and those we love.
Our New York City based, family-run business was founded in 2009 with the goal of blending great jewelry design with thoughtful meaning. Led by husband-and-wife, Suzanne Ellis Wernevi and Erik Wernevi, the Luna & Stella team believes relationships – between parents, grandparents, children, partners, siblings, and friends – are what life is all about. We use genuine precious and semi-precious birthstones to represent the special person or people in someone’s life and set them into a variety of stylish jewelry designs. Using the best available materials, Luna & Stella crafts pieces at the intersection of fashion and timelessness, making them heirlooms with of-the-moment allure.

Suzanne Ellis Wernevi, Founder and Creative Director
Suzanne founded Luna & Stella in 2009 with the idea of creating a brand that fuses great design with meaning. With over 13 years experience in the fashion industry, Suzanne has held senior merchandising and product development roles at J.Crew, Bally, and Victoria’s Secret, and was formerly the Vice President of Merchandising and Design at the online retailer RedEnvelope. She holds a BA in Literature and Art History from Pomona College in California and an MBA in international strategy from IMD in Lausanne, Switzerland. Having lived in Boston, Los Angeles, Madrid, Switzerland, and San Francisco, Suzanne currently lives in New York City with her husband and business partner, Erik.
