<p>Luna & Stella means “moon and star” in Italian. Like the relationship between moon and star, our jewelry conveys the connections between ourselves and those we love.</p>
<p>More than just beautiful objects, our products radiate feelings associated with the people they represent. We care about aesthetics and firmly believe that creating products imbued with personal meaning is not incompatible with great design.</p>
<p>We hand-set our products and make them to order, giving our clients the opportunity to participate in the creative process. We use genuine precious and semi-precious birthstones as a symbolic representation of the people we love. Each stone carries with it centuries of legend and lore, which we believe gives each piece unique character.</p>

<p>Suzanne Ellis, Founder</p>
<p>Suzanne has held merchandising positions at J.Crew and Bally, and was most recently the Vice President of Merchandising and Design at the online retailer RedEnvelope. She founded Luna & Stella in 2008 with the idea of creating a brand that fuses great design with meaning. Suzanne has lived in Boston, New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Spain, and Switzerland, and derives inspiration from her travels and interactions with people of differing cultures and perspectives. She holds a BA in Literature and Art History from Pomona College in California and an <span class="caps">MBA</span> in international strategy from <span class="caps">IMD</span> in Lausanne, Switzerland. Suzanne is based in Harlem, New York.</p>
<p>Alice Nakai, Director of Merchandising</p>
<p>Alice started her retail career at Williams-Sonoma, Inc., and most recently held the position of Senior Merchandising Manager at RedEnvelope, where she managed the jewelry and accessories departments. She gets her inspiration from her love of fashion and from her multicultural background. Born in Seoul, Korea, she speaks Chinese, Korean and a little Japanese. As a recent new mom, Alice is especially inspired to create beautiful jewelry that can be worn across many generations. She is thrilled to be part of the Luna & Stella team providing customers with modern, yet classic and feminine jewelry that is all about loving relationships. Alice holds a BA in Economics from the University of California, Los Angeles, and is based in San Francisco.</p>
