Gutta Percha Cross Antique Locket

This large, oval locket is made of Gutta Percha, the dark sap of Malaysian trees which was molded into jewelry in the Victorian era. It features a large, raised cross on the front and beautifully intricate and detailed carvings on the inside. Etchings include flowers, leaves and a large "S". We have paired this unique locket with an equally interesting antique gunmetal chain, pictured.
